Reason for expectations: 180, or Nootriyenbadu, is ad film veteran Jayendra's first feature film. With a young star cast, the director seems to have urban, college-going audience in his mind as target. With two heroines (Nithya Menon and Priya Anand) falling for Siddharth, the movie is likely to be a romantic triangle.
After starring in Boyz, Siddharth concentrated pan-India to shape his career and he is largely successful in finding a foothold in Hindi as well as Telugu movies. He returns to Tamil with 180, which he claims is a good script worth trying out. The trailers and music of the movie were released a while ago. The trailer is slickly cut and puts together the beautifully shot scenes / songs sequences of the movie carefully avoiding to give any feel of the movie. It ends up like a promo of the movie's songs, probably what the director intended it to be.
Nithya Menon was last seen in the Malayalam movie Urumi and Priya Anand is the face of many products in Tamil Nadu what with her modelling assignments. Malayalam composer Sharreth scores for 180 and the album with 7 songs is already filling the radio stations of Chennai. The team also has launched an estore for buying the film's tracks.
Level of expectations: 45%
Audience: 180 will appeal to young adult audience and audience below 30. If the director has managed a decent enough story as stylishly as he has shot it, he definitely has a sure shot winner.
Expectation : 10
