Reason for expectations: When Leelai was announced, the promo stills that featured Shiv Pandit and Manasi Parekh were quite pleasing evoking your curiosity about the movie. However, the movie, that began way back in 2008 is only releasing this weekend. A romance, the film is produced by Aascar Films' V. Ravichandran.
After establishing himself in television with his high point inc career being the host of IPL matches, Shiv Pandit is slowly climbing up the ladder in Bollywood movies with his performance in movies like Shaitan. Manasi Parekh, on the other hand, is a well known model. The movie also has Santhanam and Suhasini Raju. Strangely, director Andrew Vasanth's both leads do not speak any Tamil.
According to Andrew, Leelai is an exquisite mixture of romance and comedy. He promises that the film's musician, Satish Chakravarthy has done an amazing job by tuning music fall for every situation in the movie perfectly. Camera is handled by Velraj who has done cinematography for movies like Siruthai, Adukalam, Pollathavan and Engayum Epothum.
Genere: Romance Comedy
Audiences: After a two-year making period, Leelai is hitting the screens this weekend. If Andrew has got his things right, Leelai has every possibility to become a sleeper hit. The film is targetting the young audience segment and since there is a sheer lack of such movies in screens right now, Leelai might fit the bill.
